Dude, that's something I would truly love to envision for BART! The main problem: costs have escalated over time, and that the areas that were originally supposed to have BART service either have backed out or refused initially (except for Marin County)... If only BART's network was that extensive, I would have way less commute time to bear every single day: my commute between Ignacio in northern Marin County and San Francisco takes around 90 minutes in a good commute -- and runs upwards of 4 hours on a horrible day.

What is trunk color coding?Does it involve horizontal lines or vertical lines?

I have explained it on an earlier thread: trunk color coding is a thick line that usually combines three or more lines into one, and it usually uses a staggered color combination or a unified color to denote frequent service. And by the way, it can be vertical or horizontal, depending on a line's curvature.

This is my second map.

It is the rail network of a fantasy city called Shiosau.
Like the previous map ( and practically all my maps ) is quite much inspired by the Japanese station names and network.

This city has a population of about 17 million inhabitants and a subway network composed by 11 lines.

No, that's what not I call mess: that's what I call "wow, how integrated that network is!" I really like the multiple connections provided to most communities in that city, and with an abundance of transfers, it would really increase subway ridership by the loads.

But I do

Nevertheless it's a nice network and looks even quite realistic. Could well be an existing East-Asian city.
I'd like to see the network geographically represented.

What makes you think that the latest fantasy map is a mess? How would you improve that map? And by the way, yes, it can be an Asian city.

Thank you for all your comments.

Actually I'm working on an entire country, and this is neither the biggest city.

However, I will try to develope the map and also show the geographical disposition of the lines, just give me some time

Oh wow, that would be really amazing. How many rail and subway lines are you planning to develop on your fantasy map? Plus, any bus connections from any of your stations?

And speaking of that, I think you forgot a key thing to nearly every map: a legend that describes each of the lines and stations presented on the map.

I'm still thinking of creating a fantasy bus or rail (or both!) maps combined into one... Plus thinking about a subway map to complement the two.
