Dude, relax, it's just a fantasy map. If TfL decides to use this designation scheme I' ll be happy to make the needed adjustments.

Here we go, after quite a lot of tweaking and for line simplification... here's my "official" BRT map proposal for Cebu City and environs, complete with stop and line names, as well as city and town names that the lines will go through. I'll just add the road names by demand, as well as the actual alignments with Google Maps. The lines were drawn by hand, while the additional text and descriptions were made using Paint.

All right... that will involve Google Maps and lots of tweaking on my end.

Here's one of Seattle. The Green E line is currently operational between SEA and Westlake with the extension to Capitol Hill and Husky Stadium coming online in early 2016. The Orange F line is part of the East Link package and will likely manifest itself as an interlined segment overlapping with the E north of Intl. District. Part of the Purple B line between Downtown and Ballard is under study, the exact alignment is yet to be determined. The Red A line would be critical to an optimally-functioning system in the region as that corridor is in dire need of high capacity rapid transit as well. The three most important corridors are the Green E line, the Purple B line north of Downtown and south of Ballard, and the entirety of the Red A line.

Couple of notes:
- Use a bit darker shade of yellow or make the background a bit darker.
- If two lines share tracks you need to mark the station on both. Make a spoke for the other line too, with the same position and orientation (let them overlap). Without it it's hard to tell do both lines stop at the station.
- It's best to avoid placing stations on the angels.

Lovely advice, thanks! I don't know what an angel is though. Is that like on the South Pink Line Station of St. Francis where the station occurs on a bend? I'm going to try to do Richmond or Fairfax County's fantasy metros next (I'm moving to NoVa for grad school) and would love to have a bit more skill by then.

Yes, St. Francis, but Promenade, Rose Hill and others too. Also, try to place the stations evenly, and straiten the lines, roughly something like this.

violet - trolleybus lines
dashed orange and violet - tram and trolleybus on the same lane
light violet - trolleybus lines during special events and/or service lines.
red- railway lines
termini in bold

I was bored over the weekend, so I made a completely unrealistic fantasy map of Begrade's rapid transit system. Grey line is a mostly already existing suburban rail line, the others are metro/light metro lines.

Just wondering:
  • How do you align multiple parallel lines?
  • How do you align the station dots and the lines?

Manually. It's not ideal, but the imperfections are not noticeable in the small bitmaps like this one. There should be a way, but I don't know it.

Here is a map of Moscow subway. It is made in conceptdraw tool, it was mentioned here already,
but I wanted to add that it has a big Template galery and library for metro maps.

LOL, you don't know? They're characters like Arnorian who kindly came up to save our maps for being too harsh and have a salvation from designless hell.

Also, maybe a little bit of information like line names on your map would be nice.

(P.S. He meant ANGLES.)

Great map! And thanks that you've fixed the Jakosalem issue.

It looks hard to suggest changing the route of the green line since it will cause a lot of mess with the three lines.

Here is my new concept for my Guam LRT (BTW, I abandoned my first concept): http://goo.gl/maps/pr8mc

I'm re-doing the bus network in my home town, only with Google Maps. It's a huge town, so I just start with the inner network. The red lines are frequent lines:
Code:
Headways in minutes on the busiest part of the route, lines 1-9:
Rush hour: 3-8
Daytime: 5-10
Evening: 5-15
Night: 20-30
The routes branch off at the ends, so some buses go further than other buses. This is denoted by a break in the line on the map, but it still has the same name. The red lines mostly follow current alignments (and current headways), but I've changed them a bit to fit better. I've also added a new line, 7.
I will be adding and changing this map - I've already added line 18. It's a busy line with up to 7 minute headway during rush hour.
Bus stops are not added as they just clutter the map. These buses stop at every bus stop, they should be visible when you zoom in.
Is it easy to follow when the extensions are separate lines?
Questions and critique is very welcome!!!
