Islamabad-Rawalpindi Metropolitan Transportation Network

Decided to make one of my hometown since I'm most familiar with it. The Metropolitan area is home to over 3 million people. Here's a satellite view of the region.

And here's the Urban Transportation Network I've designed. The light blue line running through both cities is a BRT line currently under construction. Designed the rest of the map centered around it.

1) do you use a program to design them? (and which one)
2) could you put in the suburban lines (maybe as light grey)?

Hi

Hi there!

I'd like to share my first map with you. The map is made using Illustrator.
I must admit it isn't really a fantasy map. That's because I didn't have any experience, so I wanted to start with something familiar to me. The map shows the bus routes in a part of the Dutch province 'Zeeland'. It would be nice to hear what you think of my first creation and what you think I could improve!

Here it is:

Edit: for some reason it doesn't seem to be possible for me to post any images, I hope it works this way. Does anyone know what's the problem? Thanks!

Thank you!
The only colours I'm not really sure about, are those of the bottom lines (55, 57, 58). I personally feel like they don't really fit in. I guess I'm just going to experiment a bit

I know what you mean, those ones are a bit off. It's hard to find bold colors that pop and look good when you need a lot of them. It's usually just a matter of messing with the shading and hues over and over again. You can also attempt to reuse a color from elsewhere on the map as long as the two lines aren't near each other and the colors are sufficiently distinct to differentiate between them on legends, etc (although that wouldn't really work in this case since the lines in question are at a hub of sorts, more of a general guideline).

The NYC High Speed Commuter Rail

Traveling at a speed of 100 mph between stations and underneath NYC, inspired by the London Crossrail

I LOVE It! I know I made a rapid transit map for Milwaukee a while back (I would highly suggest looking @ it. Also, how do you create something like that in google maps?

Why not extend the western part out past Short Pump (is that really a name?) and make a park and ride terminus just crossing N Gayton Road? Any other places where park and ride stations could be made?

That is nothing. And at a speed of only 113 km/h? You haven't seen this huge-ass NYC metropolitan subway. Express lines travel at 90 mph (145 km/h) there.
