Qatari Diar - a major global player in real estate investment - has appointed Doha-based communications agency 'grow' to deliver the branding and communication campaign for the company's first regional development in Tangier, Morocco.
Al Houara is set to be Tangier's new exclusive address and tourism hub with world-class facilities including a five-star hotel, coastal chalets, exhibition centre, golf club, restaurants and a kasbah - an ancient-style bazaar - offering traditional handicrafts. 'grow' will be responsible for developing Al Houara's brand strategy in the lead-up to the project's sales office launch, which is scheduled to open in the coming months . 'In all aspects of Qatari Diar's developments we establish new global standards from master planning to marketing by selecting agencies and partners that are high-calibre specialists in their field,' said Leanne Arnold, Director of Marketing, Qatari Diar. 'Under the direction of 'grow', Al Houara's brand will build on the benchmarks set by Qatari Diar's Lusail development, but will be unique in its own creativity and high-impact marketing,' she said. grow's Managing Director, Anthony Ryman, added that Al Houara's branding will reflect the cultural significance of Tangier and the development's commitment to fostering a sense of community for visitors and residents. 'The Al Houara branding will echo the development's philosophy of being a sustainable community that is integrated into Tangier's historic area,' explained Ryman. 'Because we are a communications agency grounded in branding, we will develop a holistic, integrated campaign that communicates the experience that Al Houara's guests and investors can expect.'

I think this is the initial project that triggerred the attention for investment in the Tangiers area. It was the initial one, and was significant in cost; but then emaar, big Moroccan groups, and I think the Qatari group is investing more.
I guess Diar is a government owned agency? Right? Coz I have a feeling that its only once the relationship between both kings become positive that the investment followed. |

Diar is an internationally renown company, and it is free to invest all around the world. The fact that it chose the North of Morocco means that it is a profitable investment.
I dont see why it would have invested there if it was not well studied and judged lucrative. That is.... unless you work for Diar. |

Does anyone know anything about this project called Al Houara ?. Also can someone please tell me what Al Houara actually means in local language ?.

Houara is a small village in the south of Tangier and it's also the name of a Berber tribe in the deep south

Nasser Al Ansari, a indiqué que la station "Al Houara-Tanger" est un projet touristique intégré qui vise essentiellement la dynamisation de l'activité touristique au Maroc et la création d'opportunités d'emploi pour les jeunes. Outre «Al Houara-Tanger, "Qatari Diar" a programmé plusieurs autres projets à Assilah, Marrakech et Agadir, ainsi qu'une marina sur la côte méditerranéenne, a-t-il précisé. "Nous ne sommes pas au Maroc simplement pour construire une station touristique, nous sommes ici en tant que représentant du Qatar pour démontrer qu'il agit en véritable pays frère et ami", a-t-il affirmé. La présence du groupe qatari à Tanger permettra la création de plus de 2.500 emplois directs et 4.500 autres indirects et contribuera au renouveau de l'industrie touristique de la région de Tanger, a-t-il noté dans une déclaration à la MAP. Il a indiqué que son groupe réalisera et pour la première fois des résidences estivales dans le but d'attirer le plus grand nombre de touristes "propriétaires partiels", une nouvelle catégorie de touristes qui optent pour un séjour de longue durée. Le choix de la ville de Tanger pour ce projet s'explique par sa position géographique caractérisée par sa proximité de l'Europe et son emplacement sur deux façades maritimes, outre les infrastructures dont elle dispose, a souligné M. Al Ansari. Filiale du Conseil supérieur des affaires économiques et d'investissement du Qatar, la société "Qatari Diar" a été créée en décembre 2004 avec un capital de 1 milliard de dollars pour accompagner l'expansion économique rapide du pays et le doter d'une structure immobilière étudiée qui répond à ses priorités en matière de développement. |
