Cool pics. BTW the Rajghat should be Rajpath.
New Delhi roads are pretty nice. Only some of the drivers are crazy. I wonder if one of BBC's correspondents needs an eyeopener. |

Great pictures I agree.
I also like Delhi's Plan. i.e. new hospitals, housing for poor, public toilets, more ambulances, new buses etc. |

I wonder whats stopping other indian cities to have such grand plans like Delhi has ( besides politics )..there's no shortage of funds...there are many sources that are ready to loan us..Japan big one of the biggest...is it just the local political parties in other cities ( and the opposition ) or just the shappy attitude of leaders in these cities who are not interested in developing their cities...Delhi's grand plans happen just too quickly..in a month they are out with plans of monorail.. more flyvovers..I guess they r confident their plans wont be opposed by any political party unlike other cities

delhi has many in-built advantages (not counting good policies of the local government). massive central funding (two major boosts asiad 82 and cw 10), city state (no need to distribute funds to backward areas or please villagers), local institutional support (supreme court, etc), presence of all top politicians (who have the power to allot central funds) and its also by far the only major urban centre in the whole of the north (a massive market)
