Yangtse River Crossing - Electricity pylons taller than Eiffel Tower!

As you can read on http://www.balfourbeatty.com/bbeatty...powernetworks/ the electricity pylons of Yangtse River Crossing are taller than Eiffel Tower!
If someone has pictures of them and knows more about them, he should post it here.

Good question, as the powerline crossing of Messina Strait was replaced by a submarine cable. But on http://www.pbpower.net/inprint/artic...l/critical.pdf there are also some powerline crossings of rivers in China mentioned using concrete towers as pylons. Has someone pictures of them?

Wow.. ehmm.. well, I would deffinetly prefere to put the cables on the bottom of the river or a tunnel beneeth it...

While empressive as it is, those towers are huge eyesoars!

I wonder why have such tall towers when towers of 'normal height' will do nicely?
Could build a small island in the middle of the river and have other pylons here.

A small island in the middle of the river would be a bad idea, because it is an obstacle for ships!

There is one in the middle of the steel tube in the centre of the construction.
