@3cr.. regarding the gondolas.. as i have verified.. i think the gondolas is not for ridership but for ambiance only. it was said that it will only evoke a venetian feel but people cannot actually shop around riding a gondola. but i hope they change their mind, because its going to be an experience that everyone would remember mckinley hill for...

the multi-level parking will not only support the commercial developments in mckinley hill, but it will also cater to condominium unit owners. they can buy parking space there. this info is not official yet though.

Hi Leechtat. When they say for ambiance only to evoke a Venetian feel - pang display lang ba or it's actually moving naman yung Gondola(s) sa Venetian Mall? The Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas has a mini canal (2 way passsage way) where the Gondolas go from point A to point B and around again. Patrons and tourists can use the Gondola for a fee and the Gondolier (tama ba yung taga sagwan) will not just steer but sing some tunes along the way. I just tought it would be something like that but in a bigger and grander scale so that as you said it's going to be an experience that everyone would remember when they were in McKinley Hill / The Venetian Mall.

If you look at the plan for the venetian mall, the gondolas can go to point a and b just like you said. I hope that they allow some tourists to ride it as well.

Thanks for the info. Btw is the Venetian Mall an indoor (airconditioned mall) or outdoor mall like Eastwood's, Forbestown Center and Boni High Street? Wishing for an indoor mall in Fort Boni campus so that people will have options and variety especially when the summer months arrive. Sobrang init sa Boni High Street during the day so kawawa naman ang mga gondoliers niyan if not. Where's the plan nga pala?

oo.. moving naman.. pero you cannot shop around using the gondola, which i thought would be so cool.. parang tourist attraction lang.. feeling ko indoor mall based on the scale model sa showroom..

Thank You for the info Leechtat. Sana nga they'll have a change of heart and have a similar set-up as The Venetian Hotel. Yehey an indoor/airconditioned mall for a change. If indeed the case, guess that means the canal will be under a skylight then. I'm liking the Venetian Mall already!

if its indeed like the one in "The Venetian", wow ang ganda and this will be a hit. but if its outdoor but same concept ok pa rin naman. but i think (and hope) that people can ride the gondolas for a fee. otherwise what's the point? yeah you can't ride the gondolas while shopping, in the first place that's not the concept of gondolas at "The Venetian".

i think may fee naman yun.. but if the gondola ride fronts the establishment and not surround it, then wouldn't it be just plain and boring?

haha... i thought of shopping kasi using a gondola, pagmaynagustuhan kang store.. maganchor lang ung gondola then baba.. parang i-ferry ka niya sa buong place.. you have the option to waste your money using the gondola for the sole purpose of experience or just commonly walk around the place to shop...

Nice wide road (looks like 3 lanes each way)! So this will be the main avenue I assume...
Good to hear restaurants are starting to open already! McKinley Hill is looking good!

update: THe board up there says bacolod chicken inasal but the tarpaulin says hap chang. more likely na bacolod chicken inasal nga siguro or both. I would have to double check.

Solar-powered building at McKinley Hill
http://www.bworld.com.ph/BW122707/content.php?id=106

Megaworld Corp. will install solar panels in One Campus Place, an office project in McKinley Hill Cyberpark, Fort Bonifacio, the company said in a statement. Megaworld has commenced the installation of a 30-kW solar power generating system, to capture the sun’s energy and convert it to electricity. "This is clean energy that reduces dependency on fossil fuels and has zero carbon emissions," Megaworld FVP Jericho Go said.

Megaworld set to complete first solar-powered BPO building
http://www.philstar.com/index.php?Re...aid=2007122716

Megaworld Corporation, the country’s top residential condominium and business process outsourcing (BPO) office building developer, is proving to be a pioneer once more by being the first to install solar panels in a BPO office project — One Campus Place in McKinley Hill Cyberpark, Fort Bonifacio. The project is set to be completed soon.

Megaworld has commenced the installation of a 30-kW solar power generating system, one of the biggest in the Philippines. Solar panels capture the sun’s energy and convert it to electricity.

“This is clean energy that reduces dependency on fossil fuels and has zero carbon emissions,” explained Megaworld FVP Jericho Go. Sealed, maintenance-free, gel-valve regulated batteries will be used; therefore, no acidic or toxic fumes will be emitted. Highly sophisticated electronics, on par with European and American systems, will have better cooling, higher efficiency, and electronic instead of mechanical changeovers.

“In light of the recently concluded UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Bali and the urgent need to address this issue, designing a green building is one of Megaworld’s contributions to environmental conservation and the prevention of global warming,” added Go.

“Since the building is partly electrified by solar power, this will cut down demand for electricity from power stations. This will mean less burning of fossil fuels in power plants and fewer carbon emissions. At the moment, 90 percent of the world’s energy comes from conventional sources: coal, oil, wood, and nuclear power. But these have caused serious environmental damage. While One Campus Place is only one building, this is Megaworld’s first step in the right direction to help combat global warming.”

According to the report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change released just before the convention, world temperatures could rise from 1.1 to 6.4 C during the 21st century. This will probably result in sea levels rising by at least 7 inches and in more frequent warm spells, heat waves and heavy rainfall. Droughts, tropical cyclones and extreme high tides will likely increase in occurrence.

To install the solar power generating system at One Campus Place, Megaworld hired a consultant from India, which has been using the system for 15 years now. Prominent Indian BPO companies such as Wipro and Infosys use renewable energy.

Solar power is not the only green aspect of One Campus Place. Its windows will be double-glazed, thus insulating the rooms from heat and noise. Each building will be oriented in a north-south direction, hence controlling heat convection and radiation from sunlight. Large north-south windows will allow natural lighting. The much fewer east-west windows, on the other hand, will be installed with lightweight aluminum sunscreen.

Air conditioning will be done per zone through variable refrigerant flow. In lieu of a centralized cooling tower and chilled water pump system, there will be a self-modulating, localized condenser that will be turned on only when cooling of a particular area is required.

Since One Campus Place will have only six office floors, there is projected less need to use the elevators. Instead, staff will be encouraged to take the wide stairs. This will translate not only to energy conservation but also a healthy working environment.

“We will likewise conserve water,” added Go. “The restrooms will be installed with waterless toilet fixtures, or self-enclosing automatic top closets, which are expected to save half a million gallons of water a year. For landscape irrigation, an underground cistern will collect and filter treated rainwater for use in watering the plants.”

True to being a green building, One Campus Place will be encircled by lush trees and landscaped gardens typical of a campus setting, making it ideal for refreshing breaks and perking up employees’ innovation.

“With the strong response to One Campus Place, Megaworld is closely studying the addition of environment-friendly features in our upcoming BPO building projects,” Go declared.

Located in a gated one-hectare complex with maximum security, One Campus Place consists of two six-storey building. Each building will have 10,600 square meters of prime office space. Building-by-building addition will follow the BPO firm’s expansion requirements and timeline.

Since its location, the 14-hectare McKinley Hill Cyberpark, has been declared an Information Technology Park, One Campus Place locators will be entitled to incentives, including income tax holidays of up to eight years.

McKinley Hill Cyberpark is part of the 50-hectare McKinley Hill Village, the largest mixed-use township development of Megaworld to date that offers residents and locators a total Live-Work-Play-Learn environment.

McKinley Hill is easily accessible from Makati, Ortigas, and the airport via C5 and EDSA. The township’s main artery, Upper McKinley Road, connects directly to McKinley Road and to Makati City’s main thoroughfare, Ayala Avenue.

Living amidst beauty
PhilStar
http://www.philstar.com/index.php?Re...&type=2&sec=37

Beauty has inspired many an artist. Among them is Leonardo da Vinci, whose Mona Lisa is arguably the world’s most famous painting.

It is no doubt, however, that da Vinci, being a Tuscan, was inspired by the beauty of his surroundings. The rolling hills, lush vineyards, and colorful flowers of the Tuscan countryside have nurtured the Renaissance movement – including da Vinci.

It is this beauty that property giant Megaworld Corporation seeks to propagate at McKinley Hill Tuscany Private Estate. The seven towers of this exclusive residential enclave lie on a hilly section of the 50-hectare McKinley Hill township, with picturesque views of the Sierra Madre mountains and Laguna de Bay to the east.

“We have carefully put together the best elements of Tuscan design and architecture in this project. Once completed, the flair and beauty of Italy’s grandest region will be here for our residents to enjoy,” Megaworld first vice president Noli Hernandez stated.

The 17-storey seventh tower, the tallest among the lot, seems to frame the whole development. Beside it will rise the jewel of the project’s many amenities – a 15-meter lap pool with paved sunbathing lounge. Colorful flowers at the pool’s edge provide a focal point for swimmers, while tall trees at the edge of the property lend a vital sense of privacy.
