Hennepin Co includes a lot of rural areas and farm land, while city boundaries in general tend to be arbitrarily drawn. Minneapolis and Saint Paul are essentially one city, so the city's total population is around 665,000.

I think urbanized area would be the better source to determine size. Metro areas can count cities 70 plus miles away which really have no urban fabric or connection with the city. So metro areas not really much better than city proper stats. Some metros have territories twice the size of others making them seem to be bigger on paper. Twin Cities urbanized area is around 2,900,000

I love the old style brick buildings, something I think we are definitely missing here in Dallas.

Exactly! It's no mid sized city. Canada only has 2 cities bigger than that.

That is due to our strict building codes

The skyline of Minneapolis is one I do miss looking at. I loved seeing the IDS peeking out from a distance on drives back from Iowa or Wisconsin or somewhere up north, like Duluth. I give it an enthusiastic 10!

^ Seattle has similar strict building codes as well. Our City Council did grant an exception to Russell Investments, but so far, no signage has shown up on the building. Besides New York City, I've lived in one other city that also had little signage on their buildings, Portland, OR.
