Nice! I´m suprised by how beatiful Liverpool´s skyline is looking. Are there more/taller buildings planned in this area?

Is that the Museum of Liverpool under construction in the first pic?
Not quite. They're still excavating for foundations etc. The entire waterfront from Princes Dock to Kings Dock is a building site, from Alexandra tower in the north through to the canal extension along the Pier Head, Mann Island development (including new Museum of Liverpool), along the Strand with the £1bn Liverpool One development, to the new Arena and conference centre on the right of the pic.

thanks. So has building work started on the museum of Liverpool? All I can find on google is that the money has been raised, and "construction is imminent".

Yes. They're excavating the foundations. There's a webcam on one of the Liverpool threads that Woody found. It shows the entire Pier Head/Mann Island redevelopment.

This is by far the best pic of the evolving waterfront I have seen so far.. depth, the whole river, buildings in context, framed perfectly. The elevated position is much better than most taken fromthe rivers edge don't you think? Who's is it... and should someone get it to bam to get on the banner?

Actually, could you post it on those threads for best present and best future skylines on the UK and Ireland section ... should help the debate somewhat!

that one is cool too ... I like the fishermen in that one.. good pics should always try and portray a bit of citylife in them. it is the first time I have been on this thread for ages anmd as I scrolled down the pics just got better and better. I like the other one as it has a hint of San Francisco about it!
and it's just going to get better and better. I can't wait until I take my rediscovery walks in 09, especially to explore new vistas and corners like that one you have put up. It got to a point whre I knew evry bleedin brick and angle of all the buildings and scenes downtown and it got me down!

I think I have my enthusiasm back!

This one's my new favourite, as there are hardly any night time skyline shots of Liverpool on the Internet:

Cracking pictures, Liverpool is shaping up to have the most impressive skyline in the UK... Its much more cohesive than London's multiple skylines. A few more towers and it'll be up there with La Defense and Frankfurt.

I thought it was 140m? Anyway, beautiful pics. One of the most underrated skylines in Europe for sure.
