That's because Beetham spend just as much money getting renders knocked up as they do on building the things!

Decent picture, is it not?

So currently only 2 towers in Britain are currently under construction that are going to be taller than this? The Manchester Beetham and and 201 Bishopgate?

Liverpool will be world class by 2010, maybe even 2008. The paradise project is the largest retail development in Europe, and if that dubai place didn't exist it would be the largest in the world, theres some huge mall by Burj Dubai in dubai

Its going to be the tallest structure in one of the UK's most famous cities, its highly significant because Liverpool is emerging from a vicious recession that lasted the latter part of the 20th Century which saw the population halve and the traditional industries centred around the docks collapse.

Instead of turning your nose up at it because there's taller stuff in Dubai why not try adding a positive comment?
Wat factors were involved that made Liverpool emerge from its recession? Is it going through a boom cycle now?

All major UK 'regional' cities are booming in terms of development: Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Newcastle, Glasgow... We have enjoyed a period of constant economic growth in the UK and the emergence of new service-based industries in these cities to replace the traditional mills, shipbuilding, steelworking etc.

Its not unique to Liverpool, but after such a spectacular collapse in the late 20th Century, its the most heartening renaissance.
