Didn't Leed Utd for a long time have the largest stand in the world? or was that about the roof?

Leeds had the biggest roof for a year or so until Man United built a bigger one.

The Mestalla is immense and the small upper tier scares the shite out of you.

Wezza, the modern stadia in Europe is developed with safety right at the top of the list, the number of exits, access to the playing surface, under stand circulation, gangways etc., I'd be suprised if you couldn't empty the Westfalen Kop in 2/3 minutes or less.

Nah i meant tier as in any single tier, however the biggest one would probably be from a single tiered stadium

Michigan Stadium has just one tier, with a capacity of 107,501 - surely this has to be one of the largest in the world.

I don't know about the number of rows, but in standing mode it has a capacity of 25,000.

Oh, you're talking about the Italian diving team, yeah they're so talented. They can dive, they can fake, they can act, pity they can't play football.

A stadium that I would be worried about in an emergency is Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane. It takes 15 minutes to get out and that's on the bottom tier. The problem is that there aren't any exits on the Eastern or Western sides of the stadium, so you run into a massive crowd moving through the corridor as you come out of your aisle and then the crowds from the two corridors, plus the crowd coming up from the end aisles plus the crowds coming down from the upper tiers all converge at the ends, causing chaos. Serious issues there i think.

I wasn't amused about the way the Italians beat Australia but to be honest, they played a great game against Germany and fully deserved to win that game (and they didn't even had to cheat for once).
