Trier, Germany's oldest city

Trier (roman name: "Augusta Treverorum"), Germany's oldest city.
Hope you enjoy this lovely city, which hosts several buildings on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Part 1 (Trier's Streets + Hauptmarkt (main market square):

In WWII Trier was destroyed to more than 40%! :-(

Wonderful city, I can understand the reason why it's a Unesco world heritage.

Thank you for the great pictures. Gorgeous city!

Maybe you should also include the "Porta Nigra"...

Wow, very beautiful city. There seems to be lots of history. If they just renovated these roman buildings so people could actually use them for office or residential.

Been to Trier twice, very nice historical city. The surroundings are also beautiful with the river on the west-side of the city. Do you have some pics from the old Roman structures, like the bathing houses and - i don't know what it was - but some sort of colloseum?

No, I'm sorry!
But if you are really interested I could do some when the weather gets better. It's raining since start of August...

Nice a lot of recognizable pictures, i've been there twice too.

I've been to that ''colloseum'' too, it was just outside the city centre.

I went on a school trip to the Mossel valley, and we visited Trier, was a lovely city. I went to that colloseum too, also ate in the Maccy D's in the main square, best food we had all week, and I hate McDonalds!! The youth hostel food was rank. We stayed in Traben-Trabach, also visited Cochem(many a s****** about that name) and the great castle on top of the valley
