KPF's new luxury apartments

Sister development to the Marina Bay Residences whose 428 units sold out in three days, Marina Bay Suites is scheduled to be launched in early 2008. Designed by New York-based architects Kohn Pederson Fox, the 65-storey residential tower comes with a distinctive silhouette, enhanced by the dramatic staggered balcony layout. The Marina Bay Suites comprises 223 luxuriously-specified three- and four-bedroom apartments ranging from 1,500 sq ft to 2,500 sq ft and private lift lobbies. The typical floor plate has only four apartments, while the solitary single-level penthouse and two duplex penthouses in the complex each boast a swimming pool.

The outdoor and entertaining areas on the podium level will offer residents an urban oasis which includes semi-outdoor spa lounges and a 50-metre lap pool, while Sky Lounges located at levels 27 and 46 offer Sky Cabanas, yoga and massage terraces set amid earthy natural materials and water features.

Marina Bay Suites is developed by the same consortium behind the Marina Bay Financial Centre; it consists of three of Asia’s largest property developers: Cheung Kong (Holdings)/Hutchison Whampoa, Hongkong Land and Keppel Land. The S$4-billion MBFC was also designed by KPF to create the ultimate ‘work, live and play’ environment for 50,000 urbanites expected to work in the precinct following its completion in 2012.

And I understand that another development that might even be bigger than this is set to rise on the plot just behind it.

Also: where is the supertall supposed to be built ?

The next major development behind this is the recently announced joint venture project between the Singapore & Malaysia governments. Refer to the yellow coloured massing models:

Read about it here:

If a supertall is built, then the models at the Singapore City Gallery might give a clue where it would be sited:

Hmmm, VERY interesting. And I suppose it's possible that the Marina South Integration Concept could be even taller than Marina Bay Financial Centre. I read where they are considering as tall as 60 stories.

Doesn't Singapore currently have a 280 meter height limit? (explaining the 3 identical height tallest towers) Has this been lifted, and/or is there an area of the city that is allowed to build taller? I'm surprised to hear news of a possible supertall, although Singapore could sure use a couple!
