Ringil in: Singapore - the organized jungle

Time for the last thread in this "Ringil in" Asia trilogy. After this I won't bother you with any more threads from SE Asia.

Singapore was very green and clean. It's a young country and city so I have to admit that it felt a bit "plastic". And all the shopping was killing. There were around 40 shopping malls on Orchards road alone! Another thing that I remember strongly was the extremly high humidity. Anyway here are the pictures from the cleanest and richest city in SE Asia

Thx for watching. Next "Ringil in" thread will come in mid october

Cool beans!

looks like it could be a fun city to visit... alteast for the shopping?

Did you get in trouble with the law at any time? like for chewing gum? crossing the road at the wrong intersection or standing on the steps of a bus?

did you use a tripod for the nightshots?

This is great city. I imagine that after seeing all the impressive megapolises in SE Asia you can't add much superlatives about Singapore - it is comparatively smaller than Shanghai or Beijing. But it is extraordinary well run city, where, f.e. Riga could learn lots of useful things.
Your photos are very good and diverse - not just a row of similar streetscapes and skyscrapers but many more things - people, details, backyards. Thanks!

WOW!!! Right on, Ringil! I agree with Gatis about your style. Its nice to capture not just the usual building pics but also the heart and soul of the city. Cool pics as usual!

@wolken: I did break the law once. I didnt use any tripod. I used an iron bridge named after some old governor in India

@qazaq: I think I will

@Gatis n'Wally: About the pictures, unfortunastely I didn't take that many pics on people. I kinda forgot about it

Really cool photos, keep them comming!

I enjoy this one and this one a lot, perfect nightshots, and i love how they enlight the trees! Looks like a pretty bad thunderstorm, i guess you had a lot of that due to high temperatures and a very humid climate?

I was in Singapore 6 weeks ago and stayed at a hotel on Orchard Road, it is retail gone crazy, shops after shops after shops. And yeah, its quite humid there.

Singapore isn't really a place I'd visit in its own right but its a good stop over point when travelling to or from Australia.

the problem is rather vice versa. The airconditioners are almost too cold, so bring a sweather when you go shopping the humidity was no problem for me.
