The photos of the buildings reflecting in the water (the fountains of the Bellagio) is especially nice. You can almost forget Vegas is in the middle of a desert!

Is the Harmon (pictured above) going to be cladded all the way by the time all this opens in a couple months?

It will look kind of tacky if all but one building is done on the outside.

I don't think you know the definition of "tacky"

Amazing.

Notice that Louis Vuitton added their logo to the Crystals already.

I was in Vegas this summer.. and I have to say that CityCenter has really changed the skyline of the strip. It's kind of hard to get used these towers. They're very impressive though. The facade is very unique and elegant. I hope more buildings around the world get built similarly.

I hope all the tacky ass themed towers on the Strip eventually get replaced by towers like these (and the Cosmopolitan and The Wynn / Encore) as they're brilliant examples of modern architecture done Vegas-style in a good way.

Of course that will never come to total fruition as the Venetian owners insist on continuing with their design theme.

Half the fun of going to vegas is the themed hotels, tacky or not.

I pass by this tower everyday and it seems like they are working fast enough to finish the cladding.

Vegas is kind of a Disneyland for adults, so it has to be tacky and surreal in a wierd kind of way

I love the so called 'tacky' buildings. That is what makes Vegas so special, (especially at night.)

I go to Vegas every year and I think that these are buildings that should go however, since they always seem kind of out-dated for the current Vegas: (Just my opinion though)
1. Riviera
2. Imperial Palace (Most people don't even know it exists..)
3. Flamingo (You could debate this one maybe...)
4. Bill's Gamblin' Saloon (Light a torch to this one... biggest eyesore on the Strip )
5. Harrah's (You could debate this one too)
6. Casino Royale (The spot of this one could use something a little better)
I'd also include Tropicana but I heard they'll be remodeling it completely from the outside.. so I'll put that one on hold for now. But I don't like it overall how it is now.

How they say in Vegas... out with the old, in with the new.

I heard rumors that they are planning to demolish Imperial Palace and Flamingo but I don't know when.

If that is true, then I'd say they'd do it after the economic crisis. Plus you have to take into account that often times owners of casino's changes, even though there are only a handful of owners of casinos on the strip. The same people own everything basically. I guess it depends on who has the money and will to build something new.
