And Dubai will never be anything like Vegas. What is your point?

Construction wise Dubai is definitely bigger, but tourist and economic wise no way.

Dubai is trying to be what Las Vegas is. By the way, Saw a commercial for Aria last night, it kind of makes you really wanna go.

Yeah of course not, and i hope Las Vegas never become like Dubai, in Vegas we have freedom of speech, higher quality of life than Dubai, less polluted, we don't kill gay people in Las Vegas, and women are like anyone else.!

No actually I don't know what you're saying. I can give you NUMEROUS similarities between Dubai and Vegas. But since DUBAI is what's makes Dubai DUBAI, I'll just leave it like that. Anywho, here are some pictures of City Center from flickr (jetstoallen).

And a bonus shot of Cosmopolitan. Even though it's not a part of City Center, it's location right next door makes it seem as though it is.

Now for entertainment, Vegas is the place
I don't think Dubai has any entertainment (shows) at all. Maybe a belly dancer here and there, but nothing like for instance a Circus du Soleil show.

Yeah, Las Vegas is not just casinos and I doubt you can find a suite in Dubai under $400.

Make no mistake. Dubai is probably the most free Arabian country there is. They don't kill gay people, that's what they do in Iran

I was just being sarcastic, anyway it could be the most Free Arabian country but not as free as Europe or the US.

^ Of course it will never be like Europe or the USA. That's the culture of the Islam and Islamic countries. Anyway, let's stick to the project and stop comparing cities. Otherwise I might have to delete some posts here.

Great updates! This artwork (I forgot what it called) came from Seattle's SAM (Seattle Art Museum) Scripture Park and it got delivered to Las Vegas City Center. I like this artwork but I don't think it fits in Las Vegas City Center well.

About Dubai vs. Las Vegas. Both are different cities with its own styles. Both cities will never be same. No offensive to Dubai or Middle East... More people around the world feel more comfortable to go to Las Vegas than go to Dubai for safety reason. I want to go visit Dubai but my friends and family won't go there because of safety issues.

Yeah... Las Vegas is known for its crimes. Do you know how many times I've been assaulted there by beer bottles?

But I'm still a fan!

Yeah right. It is crime to have adultery, be gay, shirtless, walk drunk, kiss in public, etc. in Dubai.

You misunderstood my post, I meant freedom not the crime itself, I am talking about the freedom like people can come out of the closet without getting themselves killed, have an affair without getting themselves into jails, or kiss in the public without get arrested like it is happening in Dubai. These type of actions are no big deal in Las Vegas.

Easy to feel safer in Dubai when its nothing but construction zone after construction zone. Maybe if you didnt look like a victim you would feel safer in Vegas. The evil prey on the weak.

Hallo again,
sorry for my rude word. The freedom is bigger in Vegas than in Dubai. But if you drink
a beer on the streets, you`ll get a problem too. In european countries that`s not a
problem at all. You americans are also not allowed to lay naked on the beach. And
if you are black or looking arabic, you will be treated different than a rich, white guy.
What do you say about Guantanamo, the torture there, CIA,FBI...This has nothing to
do with freedom !!! In reality the USA is a fascist regime. The freedom of speech is
also not guaranteed. Do you remember Osho ? So only when you are a well-off, white
conditioned robot with a lack of consciousness you will feel safe in the U.S..
To Ganis: I don`t look like a victim, but during nighttime in some areas you would not
feel very safe without a gun. There are many armed, crack-addict junkies around so
you feel not very comfortable even when you are 7 feet tall !!!
