It's amazing that the current boom in Las Vegas is even bigger than during the late 90's. This place just never cools off.

By the way, great project and great job on the updates. Keep up the good work.

Las Vegas doesn't seem to stop growing. I wonder what percentage size of the economy their service sector is, must be pretty high....

Vdara foundation is coming together fast. Can't see down in that hole, but that blue frame looks like they're starting to erect a tower crane.

from MSNBC...

What happens in Vegas no longer stays in Vegas
"With China's explosive economy, more lenient travel rules and a growing middle class looking to spend money, the gambling island of Macau surpassed Las Vegas in revenue in 2006."

"The former Portuguese colony — once a backwater of dingy, smoke filled casinos — is getting an extreme makeover led by American gambling tycoons looking to cash in with upscale new casino hotels. This year Steve Wynn opened the $1.2 billion dollar Wynn Macau and its stock reached an all-time high based on optimism for Asia business. That followed the opening of the Sands Macau by Wynn's arch riva,l Sheldon Adelson, who welcomed so much business that the casino hotel paid for itself in less than a year."

i think thats kind of scary.. i thought las vegas was best for there industry... i am guessing not so much anymore..

The Mandarin foundation is taking shape fast, looks like they might start adding floors soon.

Fully erect tower crane just appeared on the Vdara site.

Want to buy a unit at CityCenter? The sales center is now open. An advertising campaign is underway as seen here.

Yes, but I think I read a figure somewhere of $2,000 per sq foot. Is that in the ballpark? Way too much for a peon like me.

Prices start at $500,000 for the smallest unit. Top of the scale will be The Mandarin, whose smallest unit is priced at $1.5 million. Units scale upward to $12 million for 4,100-square-foot penthouses.
CityCenter costs $7 billion, the developers are smart enough to know that they'll make up part of that price tag by selling their units for top dollar.

I don't know the exact size of the smallest unit, but can't imagine it being smaller than 500 square feet, which would come to about $1,000 per square foot, which is the same as the current price at Trump. Maybe some of the penthouses in The Harmon or the Mandarin are more per square foot?

Here's a peek inside the sales center where they have a model of the entire Strip.

I think they could have thought of something better for that centerpiece than a few trees.

Agreed. Maybe a fountain or the like would have been better. We have enough palms trees here.

I'm still waiting for word if there will be some water included somewhere. The first renderings (see first page) show a fountain by the main towers, what happened to it?

nevermind, it was probably killed during the resign. The original model had a bunch of interesting features, such as a twisting (not just leaning) tower. That was replaced for these more boxy versions.
