I have really fallen in love with the City Center Project, and I like the Vdara so much, I am thinking about buying a condo-hotel unit. This building simply looks amazing, inside and out.

CityCenter at night on weekends, pretty dark and inactive. That changes on weekdays however.

http://inbusinesslasvegas.com/2007/03/23/feature2.html
In Business Las Vegas newspaper has this story about the CityCenter construction work force and they say it is a 24-hour site, but so far they are only at around 30% of the number of workers they will have when they reach peak construction in the summer of 2008 with 6,900 construction workers employed on the site.

I know about the 24/7 thing which is why seeing it dark on weekends is interesting. There ARE probably workers there on weekends at night so the 24/7 is true but they certainly arn't doing the major construction work. On weeknights, it is lit up on the top floors with lights everywhere. I'll check the cam again tomorrow.

On Monday night, it was lit up

FACADE!

The first section of facade has been intalled. It's on the south face of the west wing.

It will be very interesting to see how the silver color facade will look under the desert sun in a desert environment.

Yeah, I'm not sure how accurate the color of the facade is in those photos because it was overcast when I took them, might look a little different in bright light.

Leonard Stern just posted on a blog that it might be just a facade test and not the actual thing, but it seems to me like more than would be used in a test. I'll drive by again later today and see if they put some more up, then we'll know if it's the actual stuff.

This has bugged me for a while passing it numerous times. What is it??! I see the parking garage next to it but this has too many trusses and such for a garage.

Cool photos. Don't really know what that structure is, but just a wild guess I would say maybe corporate offices.

In the bottom photo you can see additional facade panels, so it's the real thing and not just a test. You can also see Palazzo starting to tower over the top of the Venetian in the distance.
