I don't think this one is a simple car lift. This is a car stacker. It is being described as being like a large automated dexion storage system. Picks up the car and slots it into its designated pigeon hole! I'm sure it will work superbly! Imagine peak times trying to get your car out with the other 100+ residents!

like the car park in that episode of The Thunderbirds when Alan (i think) races in that desert race? How cool - anyone remember that?

I've seen those car stackers in videos before - they're quite awesome.

They can work well... and they can also not. It’s not uncommon for these things to break and as a consequence things get crushed. I would not park a horse drawn cart in one... let alone a thirty year old car.

Also, this building is an absolute disgrace in every way imaginable.

It looks gross. This design is something a child could invent (though that's not to be disparaging to children). The structure is a disgusting panel and in situ concrete clad in paint and second-rate glass and rubbish metal work. There is probably more metal in my car than the whole building.

This building says a lot about what's important to Melbourne at the moment.. that being: greed.

There automated parking system seem inconvenient As someone mentioned you would have to wait in a queue at times and it would be annoying if the thing broke down.
But I suppose this complex is in the CBD so it's not as if someone would use their car that often, if they have one. Something like this would not work well in the suburbs.

Looks like boom times are back in Melbourne.

This tower sold out so quick that the developers have purchased the property next door at 302-310 Russell Street so that they can increase the height of the tower to 47 levels!

They are selling the second stage before they even have a permit, so they must be pretty keen ;-)

New Render looks better too with more glass:

Hopefully it will crack 150m.

Much better, the height change is great news. The glass is a welcome addition in breaking up the balconies as well. Good news all around.

Being on that hill will again raise the profile of that building. Great news all round.

yes, it is great news. Improved design, and looks like being taller than QV - and will appear more so in that elevated position.

the city's north is looking up!

Great to hear this tower is doing well, and the redesign is big improvement on the original. I hope this means that the various other resi projects floating around are going alright too.

I am always amazed that the external appearance of a building is often considered to be the be all and end all. This project is going to end in tears for every single investor because it is so badly designed internally and the rent guarantees are based on a serviced apartment operations that not every investor is going to take up and has no infrastructure to support it.
