It certainly sounds that way.

Could turn out to be a good move by Peel , getting companies up and running then ploughing on with the start of Wirral Waters...!
I think in the next 5 years we should see this Trade centre take off along with the construction of that 22 storey tower next to the wharehouse flats at the very least.
With a bit of luck they might even develop all that land between the wharehouse and the Pumphouse...! If i'm not mistaken they intend to put a couple of towers 30+ and 40+ on that site...!
might be wrong though

This could be the scale and massing that's been approved:

That large one looks about 50 floors - could be a decent height! Reminds me of Beijing's China World Tower a little bit (with notable differences, obviously).

Is that the final design, or just a massing indication?

Chosen out of a total of 172 regional entries, Anthony McCall’s “Column” will take pride of place in Wirral Waters as one of 12 public art commissions installed across the UK for the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad.

The unusual work of art is a corkscrew of mist that will be visible from up to 60 miles away on clear days. 20 metres in diameter, Column is naturally responsive to natural light and weather and will appear as a white line against blue skies or a dark line against overcast skies.

The reason for choosing Wirral and the Northwest was explained by the artist “When I was in Liverpool, I was very struck by the big open sky which struck me as the perfect place to draw this line. Wirral Waters' cavernous estuary sky, constantly shifting weather, and its available docks makes it a compelling location for Column," he said. "The fact that Merseyside also stands as a focal point for the whole North West, makes it absolutely ideal."

Anthony McCall’s London exhibition which opened on Monday 28th February, together with Column, will be featured on The Culture Show, on BBC2, next Thursday 10th March, 7.00 - 8.00pm.

His London exhibition will run until Sunday 27th March and a model of “Column” and Anthony's installation can be seen at Ambika P3.

Chancellor 'to lobby Chinese for Mersey Waters cash'
CHANCELLOR George Osborne will this week lobby the Chinese Government for investment into the Mersey Waters project, according to The Sunday Times.

The newspaper states that the Chancellor is to meet Wang Qishan, China's vice-premier responsible for economic, financial and energy affairs to encourage Chinese investment funds to pour money into Peel's huge proposed scheme for projects on both the Wirral and Liverpool sides of the Mersey.

Peel is planning a £4.5bn scheme to develop 17m sq ft of land on the Wirral and a £5.5bn project to develop 14m sq ft on the Liverpool side.

Planning approval was granted for the Wirral side of the development last year but its planning application in Liverpoool has been bogged down by concerns from the heritage lobby and a threat by Unesco to potentially remove World Heritage status for Liverpool's waterfront if the development goes ahead.

The talks come as Peel's founder, Sir John Whittaker, is close to achieving a £25m investment for a 50% stake in the Peel International Trade Centre, the first project planned for the Wirral Waters element of the scheme. The investment is set to come from Stella Shiu, a Chinese Businesswoman who owns Sam Na minerals.

We are so lucky in Britain that we can attract foreign direct investment. I hate people who moan about it saying we are selling the crown jewels. Here's to Chinese cash on the Mersey!
