I like the architectural chemistry of the towers. I can't wait until the Operacion Chamartin that people were talking about to materialize because those 4 towers look awkward being there by themselves.

I think these towers are looking terrific . What's with some peoples obsession with building alot more skyscrapers around it to form an overloaded cluster of scrapers ?
They are perfectly spaced out in the very wide avenue that is la Castellana . I loved driving up la Castellana and being able to appreciate the scrapers individually . The way all of the scrapers are spaced out really blend in to perfection with the spaciousness that is to be had in la Castellana . If more srapers are to be constructed in Madrid may they be spaced out just like these ones . It makes for a marvellous setting and delivers a great statement .
It's as if the srapers were saying ''look at me.Admire me''.
I think personally the majority of cities that have these clusters of scrapers so close to each other look like a pile of shit . Unless you have an enormous amount of scrapers like New York or Hong Kong .

Psssssss. Some of you people that are getting excited about one day having cities like Madrid full of skyscrapers like American or Asian cities . Snap out of it . It ain't never gonna happen . And why would you want it to ?
Cities like the one i live in Melbourne are pretty obsessed with skyscrapers because they began contructing only a couple of centuries ago .
Cities like Madrid are fortunate that eighty percent of its inhabitants or corporations are housed in the wonderfull old buildings in the city center . I often criticise Madrid for the city planners having built some god awfull ugly commie blocks and suburbs on the outskirts of the city . But the fact that they have decided to build skyscrapers some way away from the historic center is absolutely spot on . It means that those wonderfull old buildings are not spoilt by a new scraper which quite frankly would never blend in anyway .
It also means that Madrid has two virtual cities . One old and one new . Something which even mega wealthy cities like New York or Melbourne could never ever possibly have .
Having lived in Madrid . I often believe that i am so lucky to be living in Melbourne where the wages to affordability ratio is light years in front of Madrid . But no matter how well of this country is economically . I can not help but miss enormously Madrids old center which unfortunately Melbourne could never have .

Also think of this . Imagine if iconic monuments such as the Eifel tower were surrounded and dwarfed by other buildings . It certainly wouldn't stand out majestically as it does now . I know a scraper ain't quite got the same value . But these four in Madrid are certainly amongst the nicest in Europe . Why on earth would you want to spoil them by building all these other ones around them ? Like i've said before they look perfectly on their own the way they are now .
I''l certainly be taking a few pics of them when i arrive in Madrid on the 27th of June . Ole .

I wouldn't want skyscrapers near the Plaza Mayor, but a place like "La Defense", Paris, in the future expansion of Castellana would be great. It's my opinion, of course.
