The end is coming soon, the Espacio's crane has been retired...., but, many windows are broken. Can anybody tell me why?

And, yes the look lonely, hope Operación Chamartín is going to be developed and up to 10 new scrapers will be in that area.

You think they are lonely? May be, but I think this is only the begining. More skyscrapers will surely rise around them and it will become the La Defense of Madrid.
Compare it with Västra Hamnen in Malmö for example, where Turning Torso is all alone, or Taipei 101, that is what I call lonely skyscrapers. The skyscrapers in Madrid are four, and there are other highrises in the surroundings.

BBVA, the owner of the tower, is on anniversary, 150 years old, and they thought that is was a nice way to celebrate it.
Very nice pics, Borja, Congrats

That BBVA tower is not ugly. In fact, architecturally it has been for long one of the most celebrated modern buildings in the city, designed by renowned Spanish architect Saenz de Oiza. Certainly one of the best pre-Cuatro Torres highrises in Madrid, together with Minoru Yamasaki's Torre Picasso, Miguel Oriol's Torre Europa, and Otamendi brother's Torre de Madrid and Edificio España.

But those gaudy numbers they've recently stuck on its façade to celebrate the bank's sesquicentennial are a real crime. The owners should have been fined for spoiling everyone of the view of one of the city's icons for the sake of their own advertising purposes, even if (thankfully) it's going to be only a temporary defacement.

This is the tower eerily disfigured by that garishly meretricious 150th corporate anniversary ad:

Now compare it with some photos (from Wikimedia Commons) of how the BBVA tower actually looks like without that chintzy advertising shit covering it:
