Eight-floor atrium.
Did you noticed the Model of Shanghai Tower between the two palm trees?

Do you think you would be able to see the Yangtze river from the top of ST?

Totally agree with this banned guy above, the floating gardens look lifeless, not even close from what was shown in the renderings.

Quite possible ( unfortunately ).

Why Birds Strike Windows

Birds strike buildings during the day and at night. Extensive night lighting of tall structures may cause night-migrating birds to hit the buildings, often fatally. Birds use the stars and moon to navigate and may mistake the glow from towers as normal features of the night sky. This draws them towards a maze of city buildings. Artificial lighting is especially confusing to birds on foggy or rainy nights or when cloud cover is low and birds migrate at lower altitudes.

During the day, especially at first light when daytime migrants are most active, tinted, mirrored or clear glass poses a major hazard as it is invisible to birds. Window glass reflects the sky or images of trees and shrubs that may be planted around buildings. Birds will fly towards what they perceive to be habitat to rest and feed.

In the case of all-glass structures such as linkways that connect large buildings, birds will see right through the glass corridor to the other side. If this is an area such as a courtyard with natural features, they will head straight for it. Birds may even be attracted by large plants inside a building if they are placed by windows.

I think there are "bird distraction patterns" on the top part of the outer glass panels on the ST ( maybe just to reduce solar radiation?).

An example ...

Here in this photo Shanghai is like a dead and lifeless city.

Post-apocalyptic Shanghai.

The rendering shows a floor surface that looks largely wider than the real one. I think the real ST 'sky gardens' could hardly host all that amount of tables, chairs and coaches, not even at lower levels.
And - yes - the overall appearence looks 'colder' than the rendered one.
Also, the presence of the ties of the external glass wall is (voluntarily I guess) largely minimized in the rendering.

The floor sizes vary in each part of the building. It is a rounded triangle, not a cylinder, so the picture could be from a narrower part. Or perspective could be skewing how large it appears.

And also the photo is taken in grey weather

You're right, but consider that also the size of the cylindric internal body is larger at lower sections. I think that proportions between cylindric body and sky gardens surfaces are the same at any level.
Anyway, I still think that sky garden's surface has been largely exxagerated in that rendering (all in all it's a very early one).

I would really hope those sky gardens don't turn into designated smoking/spitting areas. As soon as anyone goes outdoors from an office building here the first thing they do is spit out a lung and then light up a cig.
