love this tower during the day but I'm disappointed by how brash it is at night. It could've had really classy lighting like SWFC but they've ruined it with all of those multi-colours and that huge LED screen at the top.

Yes, ST lighting would look out of place in most Western cities but it fits Shanghai and China, IMO

So it's like Fiona in "Shrek"- By day it is a princess, and by night it is an Ogre.

Or it is classy during the day and slutty at night, maybe that's what the designer is trying to tell us.

I didn't see the lighting in real-life yet, but I like the LED screen at the top, its quite impressive.
Yes, the lighting might be a bit much, but I think it fits well into Chinese modern culture. Everything with a lot of bling-bling is seen as something good/great in China!

The Shanghai Tower looks better in the night then the day. He looks better with colours then without.

It´s every time the same game. People who criticize the colourfull skyline of Shanghai are jealous, because in their citys, they haven´t a colourfull skyline. So, they come here to demonstrate their jealousy. Would their citys shine colourfull, they would show off, how beautiful their city would be.

I mean, they come to laugh about Shanghai, to criticize permanently the colours as if they had nothing better to do. That is not a normal criticism. This is intentional.

Especially the colours makes Shanghai beautiful and unique. Who does not like it, doesn´t need to criticize it every day. He can look at other cities.
I am very annoyed.
