@ Zaz965: No - but they look quite massive. Could be about 200m in the end, but that's pure speculation by me. There are several other large developments and many huge cleared plots or ones in the demolition process along the Wusong river. I expect big developments there in the next years.

Bad news. Smog reaches peak levels in Shanghai.

Well, he might not be right, the building is definitely heavier in most cases, but the difference isn't as great as one would think. The component taking up most of the volume of a skyscraper is air, by quite a large margin. Just look at the size of the rubble piles after WTC collapsed. The packing density of those piles was far from optimal, yet the piles appeared tiny compared to the towers that had once stood there. Most of the rubble fit inside the towers' foundation pit. Compare that to an equal volume of solid, compact soil, and the weight difference isn't that much.

We had some lovely fog earlier this week, but it is not gone. The fog index is just 114 right now. It was 330 on Monday. The fog may intensify as it is a cold winter this year causing nature to create more fog in the eastern China region.

this really is a spectacular building. Gorgeous clear glass, beautiful form in itself, and complements the skyline.

One day last winter I was in Shanghai, it was impossible to see the top of SWFC and ST from the ground, because of the air. It only happened once though out of the seven times i got to visit during my stay in China

Lots of great exterior photos of the completed tower on this thread but what about interior photos of the tower? Are they still working on the interior?

Wow, the interior obstructions are even worse than I had feared. I'm going to post that picture of the happy puppy again.

For the tall ones, I'm sure they're directly built on rock.

Good that it's only renders and not actual pictures...

Those are just renders for the Guanfu Museum atrium. The interior details are supposed to be the center piece of attention in those renders, nothing else.

Here are some real photos:

EDIT:
To put this in perspective, here is an average "public area" in an office tower (because people complain about "view obstructions"):
