SWFC's has been left alone several years, from 1997 to 2004...

Didn't know about that, but at least they've done it. Im sure that sooner or later (with delayes or without) they'll complete this one too..

China still has positive growth and most people are expecting to recover very soon. I don't think there's much reason to worry about this project being canceled.

yea, we can be pretty sure on this project.

China doesn't seem to be affected too badly anyways.

One of China’s main thrusts during this global economic crisis is to keep their people employed as much as possible, so that they can maintain the country’s economic growth and social stability. Therefore I believe China not only will continue their major construction and infrastructure projects, but may also launch new ones in the next couple of years. And if I am not mistaken, Shanghai Tower is largely funded by the city or local government, so it should not have the same financial constraints as faced by many other privately funded construction projects, such as SWFC, etc.

Bonito edificio el que se viene para la ciudad, como que no duran los reinados de las torres nuevas, siempre traen una mas alta cada dia!

I love the design of this one! China's economy is doing much better than us over here in the USA, so I hope this one rises quickly!

Thanks for that pic. From what I can tell they are stacking random steel pieces and equipment on top of and in the older ring structures. I think if that were actually part of the tower's structure they wouldn't be doing that.

When it will be finished is of no immediate concern. That they are actually working on the base of the building is the good news!
