WOW I had no idea they are actually building this beauty. I thought Pudong is sinking?! Yet they are building more scrapers?

great rendering, but I dont know why they always get the size of hole in SWFC wrong all the time.

This tower resembles more of swirling water rather than dragon

Actually... yes... Shanghai Yangshan Deep Sea Port.

I guess we'll see the core accelerating to the roof soon as it comes out of ground. But I get bad feeling as well, in 2 years???

Every skyscraper that I have watched the the construction with in China,
has grown like a weed! Ive said it before (numerous times) and ill say it again - The Chinese really kick ass at building these large towers! After watching progress on some of the other supertalls going up in Guangzhou and other major cities, I dont think this one could take much longer than 2-3 years to top out.

Actually I'm under the impression that anything that far out to sea would be build with earth that's dug up from the sea bed it self, which I believe is the case of Yanshan.

The Yangshan deep-water port is not entirely manmade as there were islands originally there. They just reclaimed/ flattened parts of them to make the port.

I believe the Palm islands in Dubai are ENTIRELY man-made and not made from existing islands.

From memory, sand and rocks/boulders are the composing elements for the Palm Islands, with no sign of concrete, steel, reclaimed land comprising the ground.

The probability that a super-tall will be built on this site is one.
The probability that it will be this design is extremely high.
The probability that it will be finished within 10 years is very high.
The probability that it will be built in the next three years without going on hold is medium-to-high.
(all probabilities correct to an accuracy of 0 to 1)
