Im so glad this gensler design came out. I just went over all other proposals again, and almost all of them look great, but this is the only one that fits Shanghai perfectly.

Cheers for the great render. I'm pleased this is going up, just can't help but think it looks strange a grand looking building like Jin Mao being surpassed by two buildings next door.

I am using these photos to try and make an accurate model of the Shanghai Tower. The only problem is not all of them agree with each other.

Most have 8 sections, excluding the base and top, with a couple with 7. the ones with 8 sections, the majority have 10 floors in the bottom 2 sections, and 12 floors in the top 6 sections, the other design has 14 floors in 7 sections and 10 in the top one. Does anyone know which design is the correct one? I am assuming it is the one with the 12 floor sections, because it has the most renders, but I would like to be sure.
with this design, I have also calculated that there is the equivalent of 140 floors, because the mech floors are equal to 2.5 floors, and the equivalent of 7 floors at the bottom, because of extra high floors, and 6.5 + 12 floors at the top, which all equal 140. with a height of 632 m, each normal floor is about 4.5 metres high.
if each mech floor is actually 2 floors, and there is 5 floors at the bottom, and there is 3 floors at the top, this gives a total of 118 floors.

I wish the blue sky was that dark in real life, normally pale blue but dark blue would look amazing.

Actually i even think that in pudong these three are even too far from each other. Too much parking space, to wide streets between them..
maybe 2050!! in future!! when will am I old or die~!!

this one resembles the city of silk in Kuwait, but thats nowhere near dense as that and it will take about at least 20 yrs to build it.

hopefully not. Density like that is not very socially pleasing.

i haven't seen that movie for long time but i think they call it "tokyo 2", and as we speak about density i think that every big metropoly is allready much too crawded so who cares anyway..

Subway node/hub and a road tunnel iirc. Lujiazui is a bigger construction site than ever at the moment.

Love it.

I belive they will finish that area before the expo, not 10 years (Subway node/hub and a road tunnel)

P.S.
Are they building something in front of Yanlord Garden Rezidential Towers?

Look like a construction site...

So there will be a corkscrew, a bottle opener and a cheese grater in the middle of Shanghai!
