nowhere else in the world would this tower fit so well. Its perfect for shanghai. It jsut resembles shanghai. It would look weird in NY for example.

What is this shoring thing they are doing? Is it only for this project or did they do it for SWFC as well.

There was plenty shoring and foundations for SWFC. Done about 15 years ago before the earlier recession.

Wow it's was 15 years ago SWFC started. I was only learning how to drive back then, didn't even know condo's and office towers were taking over the cities. Amazing how the world has changed.

Man, I just cannot stand the sight of the building with a "watermelon head" on the left of the Lujiazui Area, it ruins everything.

I think he is refering to the pearl tower .IMO the pearl tower rocks in that and blends well into that skyline. No matter what anyone thinks . seriously the shanghai skyline is now almost unimaginable without the pearl tower .I really can't beleive that someone would want it removed.

Wow, it seems like Shanghai is getting denser. Personally, i hope they will stop building towers on the Pudong area after all these buildings are complete. I'd like each building to have their own 'space' and not have them simply one next to another so that each building can exhibit its beauty. One example would be the petronas twin towers in KL, its so striking having only a few buildings nearby, its not lonely like Taipei 101 but its not too covered up. Good for photo taking. Also the more they build, the less we will see of Jin Mao, i like the tower but it looks so short and covered up in the pic above, imagine being at ground level.

Yeah the ping an building really sucks, every time I walk by it I wanna cry. How can they build such a killer building in Shenzhen(maybe) and then this ugly thing in Shanghai.
