i live in pudong, around the area i live in you can see a foreigner in every 20 people or so, most europeans who work in shanghai would live there too, i thought europeans would like pudong better because of its better environment than puxi =/

if you have a look at 八佰伴 and 上海湾 in pudong, there is quite a lot of puxi spirit there, pudong has only been around for 10 years so since urban people start living there, give it a bit more time =)

i personally like puxi better too that is the real shanghai, but i think pudong is better for living

Pudong opposite the Bund has been densely built up since the start of the 1900s and probably earlier. Most of the coloured roof flats are '60s and '70s buildings. It's only the skyscrapers that are new.
You have to get out to near century park and beyond to get to the parts that were still farmland in 1990.

Hey, thanks for the info on the local lifestyle, its very interesting. I'm sure this tower will further improve an already stunning skyline that Shanghai has at the moment

THE TALLER, THE BETTER! :)

Wow! 632 meters! What a beautiful and elegant design! I can´t understand why some people hate it so much and say that it is not an original architecture design I visited Shanghai in 1980 (yes, when I was young, hehehe) and I can´wait to go back to enjoy that awesome futuristic skyline that I see growing so fast. If I can afford the prices of the future hotel rooms in The Tower, I will for sure stay there. Thanks a lot to all the forumers and moderators for keeping this thread so interesting to read and of course my gratitude goes also to Severiano for his updated pictures. Oh boy, I really envy you enjoying those dramatic views!

Looks like they are making some kind of reenforcement ring inside the slurrywalls. Just like they did with the Chicago Spire. Great Update

Looks like they are digging. Hey I have gotten boared going up to the Jin Mao for pictures. Do you think they will let me to to the hotel located in SWFC? Jin Mao is easy, you just walk right in, but I am worried that SWFC will have more security.

You can go to the lobby, but they might want you to order a drink to get in to the bar (from which you can take photos from the windows).

you can go into the lobby of swfc, but you need to take xray scan first,

the bar on the 91st floor will have a great view of jinmao, but from what i can remember you cant really see the plot of shanghai center at all~ =/
