I think the Shanghai tower will be built. China has been seeing positive growth everywhere. This is really going to change Shanghai for the better. It might give New York city a run for it's money.

Sad, this was going to be my favorite building ever, if constructed. But sadly canceled. :(
It would of been 655m tall or 2184 ft tall. Location would of been of course Dubai.

ANARA WHAT COULD OF BEEN THE MOST AWESOME BUILDING EVER.

I think that big rebar cage is for the slurry wall, it looks exactly like the other ones... So it does not seem they have finished it yet.

Is that really a recent picture?

Language could have something to do with it.

Is this building going to have underground parking?

Also, do most skyscrapers in China have underground parking?

I think they are not starting with digging the hole, because they haven't yet finished the slurrywall.

Well as of Sept. 7th little digging has taken place. I will be able to take pictures next week, so we can see the progress then.

they are really starting digging now, at least on one side. you can also see the holes of the piles outside the ring.

Very nice shot!! Sure makes me wonder why those short cement walls are still there though...looks like some are under materials.

A bit out of line here but how fast does it take to put up those housing units for the construction crews?
