Lol. Some americans seems to be offended even by posts full of facts

ps. you should join some ignore_button_board, because in all your posts you're ignoring somebody (necessarily with hammers ), not talking about skyscrapers

and now lets better end that short offtop

LOL, I was waiting for someone to say something like that. Some guys just can't/don't want to hear any criticism about American skyscrapers.

Beautiful shot!

Progress here has been fantastic! That hole has really sank quickly, so judging by this rate of speed it shouldn't be too long now before they arrive at where they need to be. Hopefully ST will be out of the ground by next summer..

Good news, seems like Shanghai center is the only construction site that is not paused during the expos in Shanghai.

They will finish digging before the Chinese new year, finish the underground structures before Oct 2010 and start rising by then.

Specifically its a diaphragm wall rig with hose drum system. It can be compared it to something like Bauer HS 885 with all the gear on(BC 33,40 or 50), it could even be one. The stats of such a beast are pretty impressive. It can dig 120 meters straight down, the cutting piece on its own is something like 12 meters long and weights between 30-50 tonnes depending on type. Its pretty big piece of machinery to use, as it don't get much bigger.
