Can't see your picture.
But I guess it's part of CBD's underground traffic system.

The speed is unreal! In the last picture of the base they were still digging and now it looks like there's some concrete already!

Yes but the concrete we're interested will come in 2 weeks or more ..there is some good work to be done until they'll start rising

Wow, fantastic!

Makes me wonder, what will be going quicker: Shanghai Tower or The Pentominium?
Any thoughts?

Pentominium is much smaller in area, and less comlex (no glass wall, no wind turbines).

But these days is more important how fast are the finances comming than how fast they work.

However with a bigger site you have more 'space' which allows easier materials handling, increased labour quantities, more cranes...etc

But with that said, the speed of the Pentominium is impressive!

Hi all.

I'm ... amazed at the progress !

I noticed concrete being poured in the shots from 5 days ago and speculated it could be blinding as there was a small area levelled aroung the piles.

Now the entire excavation is levelled and over half is blinded - wow. The thin layer of blinding concrete ( 75 to 100 mm.) provides a clean level surface to lay rebar and later to pour the big slab. It is hard to tell but it looks like all the piles not in the lower area still have caps. I think most projects break the caps and clean up before blinding is poured. A minor detail but it will be interesting to watch the proceedure here.

It looks like they may do a pour in the lower square area soon. I think the piles that had the caps broken (rebar exposed) in the shots from 5 days ago were in the lower area that all the rebar is layed now. That lower area is probably where some elevator shafts will be and it is common to pour concrete there before the big slab pour - we shall see.

Hi Dennis.
I have a feeling this may overtake the Pentominium at some point based on this recent progress. Hard to say though. I wish we had some floorplans etc.

I guess those orange buildings will go in future to make way for more towers/buildings. IMO i really hope they extend this Pudong area and not build more skyscrapers in the Puxi area.
