That makes more sense. I was thinking they looked like post-tensioning conduits, but i've never seen PT used on a basement slab!

WOW, that's an absolutely incredible amount of rebar!
Kind of looks like a carpet with all those loopy things!
Interesting, the 12 rebar boxes for the outer columns. the core rebar will probably be put in soon.

You sort of lose a sense of scale with the rebar, the hole now looks smaller than it actually is, probably because the rebar is huge, especially in the 12 boxes.

That will require quite a bit of concrete.

can't wait to see the endless concrete trucks lining up the blocks to make continous pour to the thick concrete mat, looks like it will be coming in just weeks.

I had a lunch meeting in Jin Mao today so I took some pics of the site from the Tower.

Heres the entire hole

Here is the entire site

Maybe, but they will have to be awfully fast. Pentominium is almost above ground now, and moving at a pretty fast clip. And it looks like Shanghai Tower has quite a few underground levels.

Awesome pics! Incredible amount of steel put down in such a short period of time. It will be fascinating to watch the speed and progress of both ST and Pentominium over the next few months..

I am a little confused, do those levels underground look like parkings?

The photos are incredible, the sheer size is incredible, and the job these workers down there are doing is incredible.
