No problem, but i think it is gonna be a pain getting up there. Anyway the two bridges would have awesome views too, but they are too shaky to take photos at night. Also any buildings alone Bund would be a good spot to view the skyline.

Do we have real infos about an observation deck? Would it be the highest in the world? What about that tower in Shenzhen?

I've just recently started following this thread, and am amazed at how fast construction is proceeding. It's been less than a year since the design was selected. Then the thing had to be engineered. Hopefully it's not going up TOO fast...in other words...corners being cut.

If this were the U.S., they wouldn't even be digging the hole yet.

i was in shanghai last summer for a school trip and i was in the same position as you are looking for a good spot to take pictures...huang pu park is right across from downtown seperated by huang pu river is best place to take photo..also the peace hotel(also right on huang pu park) its about 12 story high, ask nicely and they'll let you go ontop/outside to take pics..goodluck

I saw a video on TV yesterday where they showed some aerial footage of Pudong, the SWFC looked awesome and you could see the ST's huge hole within the city. Unfortunately i don't have the means of recording TV yet, i will probably invest in a TV-card for the worldcup.

There is no such thing has free parking in shanghai, no street side parking etc.
