It is the Transbay Terminal which is a proposed building in San Francisco. If you want the link here it is: http://i637.photobucket.com/albums/u...minaltower.png

B1 & B2 should be retail so the floor height should be higher than B3 and below, which will be a car park. I believe B1 may also be integrated with the landscaping so the slab to slab height may not be higher, rather some parts may be left with no roof so landscaping can be done below ground level. You are correct, B2 is approx. 50 % taller than the levels below- my point was that it is substantially taller.
Providing the floor of the ground level is even with the top of the highest compression ring (and I would presume it will be) it will make B1 taller than B2 as I said.

Here is a labelled shot with the arrows pointing to the top of the poured floors of the lower levels.

- The floor of the ground level will presumably be where I pointed it to be - we shall see once they get there.
- We can see the floors of B1 and B2 line up with the top of a compression ring

When I first posted on the height and number of lower levels I was going by this tiny drawing that was posted here.

I had said it was only a possibility they would follow it and now it appears they have.

The next thing I'm noticing is the structure, once above ground, has 9 sections. The bottom includes the podium(s) and the top includes the elaborate structural top.

This is a great project and we are lucky to be able to "watch" it from the start. I do hope many more plans and drawings become available. They allow the opportunity to post on different aspects of the construction.

The problem is, if you check the position of the B1 floor, it is actually higher than the compression ring. See the last update, there is a cabin built right on the compression ring, I believe it is now kind of below the B1 level.

They started digging at the end of November 2008. Could be 2 years just to get to ground level, then another 3-4 years to finish the rest! Meanwhile buildings surrounding it which are by world standards still quite tall pop up out of nowhere in 2.5 years.

Exactly, here in Dubai a 285 meters tall residential tower of 60 floors, was build from breaking ground to handover in exactly 2 years, very, very fast, but still it should serve as no comparison, considering the magnitude of the Shanghai Tower.
