This is just the core of course. And this isn't formwork.
Is this the core steel that's being used instead of rebar? The core of the building is still concrete right?

I believe that the super columns are in-cased in rebar and concrete upon there installation. I don't think they are leaving the steal exposed.

...really? 15, maybe 20 feet?

I would really be concerned about the height when it's about 15 stories up.

One section above ground, so it's about 40 feet.

I am amazed that this huge site is above ground already.

This efficiency explains why one of the world's most historic nations also is the second greatest (and eventually the greatest).

It's a layer of concrete, I don't know if with it it's easier to locate the piling machine or it is just for the started ceremony.

Hi all.

Hi Pablo.

I believe it's concrete poured so the piling rigs wouldn't have to slog around in the mud. Some earlier shots show the site very muddy when it rains.

Here is a shot from 08 11 12 showing a concrete boom finishing up a pour (I presume since the concrete truck[s] are gone).

I'm guessing the shot is from Jayman ... ?

Im not an engineer or anything (not yet at least). But, It seems to me the reason they had the concrete layer first was so the can level and plot the whole project exactly. Start at a base point of flat and square, or in this case flat and circle. Think about it, if the pile machine was off level a degree or two...
