Huh? Pretty much every building consumes energy. Maybe you meant to ask if it was being designed as a "green" building?

I don't really mind whether it gets top 5 tallest. Its a very good looking tower, i will like it regardless of what rank it gets. Jin Mao for example along with Petronas are two of my all time favorites and they barely make it into the top ten by today's standard

by local news, there'll be observatory floor at 118th to 120th floor. Floor 121 will be an open-air observatory platform.

Hi all.

My experience has been to take ANY news article with a grain of salt.
I wouldn't change the title based on a news article. It may be right or it may be wrong but untill we get some credible info from an official source the mods will probably leave it.

I wish this was larger and readable.

This structure is amazing! What a feat to construct such a building.

Ray.
It's actually 127 storeys. This is the figure given in the EES report issued by the govt which was part of the building's construction approval. Everything in the EES should be right because any changes to the design mean they have to do another EES before they are allowed to start construction. There should be a copy of the EES on the Shanghai Environment Bureau website called 上海中心大厦项目环境影响报告书简本公示

i really hope they get rid of that surface parking lot that hugs swfc. it contradicts the urban density, and is hideous.

Wow that is "official"
But for today's skyscraper it's really hard to figure out how many floor's does it have exactly, like refuge storey, floor number we try to avoid, count ground level or not or something like that.

it probably doesn't mean much except for organizations like CTBUH

there is one funny thing from the local news though. someone from the construction company said on TV that the tower construction will reach a normal speed of '5 stories per day', which many people believe to be a typo/mistake of '5 days per story'.

I saw the news, definitely a slip of the tongue.
The man also said they will reach the 12th storey before the spring festival, strange.
