kix111 you said look how large the tower is compared to the core - but maybe you're confusing this concrete ring with part of the main tower structure? If you look at the render you'll see this huge concrete ring is outside the building and continues round half the building only. It matches the render pretty well.
Note the semi-circular ring at the base of the building in this render. I think that's what we're seeing now.

I can see them just fine. However, since they're just pictures of the Shanghai IFC and do not show the Shanghai Tower construction site (no idea why he/she posted them here), you're not missing out on anything if you can't see them.

Wonder if anyone ever renders floorplate comparisons...like Culwalla's height renders? This thing looks enormous.

Hi texas.

Here is something I did up a while ago.

The wings of base 0 of the BK (the largest and lowest) are 90 meters long from the center of the structure. So the diameter of the Y is 180 meters !

Yes the ST retains a large percentage of its girth right to the top where the BK tapers to a 1.2 meter dia. pinnacle. The base of the BK is twice the diameter of the ST but probably near the same in floor space ?

here is a side by side scaled somewhat acurately.

Ray.

Very nice Ray! Thanks for posting that comparison. Staggers the mind power thinking about which one would come out on top with floorspace if the Shanghai Tower had 'full bleed' floors.

Using Google Earth, I think the core is 52m by 52m. But GE doesn't show the full core outlined, only 1/4 of it.

this tower is definitely a great project but it's just too bad that the three towers are so close to each other ...

I think this will be a great cluster, don't know how this can be seen as "bad".
