This tower is very very large. However I am puzzled because it is not squared according to the renderings. When is cladding due to start?

The square box you see now is only the core, were the elevators and such will be.

BIG BIG BUILDING!!!
The core is the size of some skyscrapers!

Is the core concrete covered steel?
(If it was just steel, it would be rising faster.)

I have a question, is that circular thing the inner facade or the outer facade? If it is the inner facade, then where is the outer facade going be? Is there a mark on the ground or can someone mark it on the picture? Thanks.

The outer circle is the podium. We will see the actual inner facade area one they finish the ground works.

Circle marks the inner facade. The outer will probably start above the base. The outer facade has shape as shown on the drawings below, and it rotates trought the tower while it gets higher:

This is going to be massive! I just looked at the first page again, (first time in a long time). 576,000 sq m = 6.2 million sq feet. Unbelievable!

Hi all.

Here is a shot that I've drawn the inner curtainwall location. I used an older shot so the core doesn't hide the supercolumns. We can see (and compare to the level 9 drawing above) the inner wall sits at the outer edges of the 12 supercolumns.

The outer wall sits just outside the hole (or what is now the 'circle' in recent shots) at the 3 rounded points and inside it at the edges ( referring to the outer wall as a triangle).

The circular hole doesn't seem to correspond to anything ... really.

The circle means nothing, we can't tell it in the future.

The outer wall sits just outside the hole? Don't think so.
The hole is 120m dia, and the widest part of the outer layer is less than 100m, so, everything except the podium will set inside the hole.

- Read my post ...

I said the rounded points of the triangular outer wall are outside the hole.

Looking closer they may be just inside. An overlay of the drawing and shot would clear that up if anyone has the software.

Hi PG.
Yes this is a great project to be watching.
Are you a mod on another scraper forum now ?

Hi Fury,

Next to Pentominium, this is my favourite under construction tower in the world at the moment. What a magnificent sight it will be as it towers over Pudong/Shanghai on completion.

Yes, I am. Thanks for dropping by.
