the 'Shanghai Center' Ltd. is established lol.

they announced to make 'shanghai center tower' the no.1 landmark in lujiazui and shanghai.

but the floor area is only 200,000sq.m

hopefully it will be a thin and tall structure

btw. if you havent already heard, the plot of shanghai center's contract with the driving range company ends this month. I think they are removing the golf range soon too.

i think the building is going to be built, the only unknown factor is the height and the design. So hopefully we will have a SHANGHAI | Shanghai Center | 590m | 120 fl | U/C by the end of 2008 XD

great to hear kix111 but 200.000 sqm for a tower with 500+ sounds not soooo much to me. remember: the SWFC has almost 380.000 sqm!

z0rg just told me that chicago spire = 278,709 sq. m / 150fl

many things contradicts each other here...

JinMao = 2.635 billion RMB
SWFC = 3.6 billion RMB
Shanghai Center = 5.4 billion RMB

dont tell me they are going to spend 5.4b rmb on a 300+ lol

and they said its going to be the no1 landmark in shanghai, so should be the tallest

Maybe they'll come with an ultra expensive design like CCTV Hq...

Well, such height is interesting, indeed, but I agree with those who said "too tall". The point is that TV Pearl Tower is not so impressive any more even after completion of SWFC. looks too small and I think he whole skyline idea should be turned around "her".
