Yeah, ZSL2700 (see info here: http://www.zs-nj.com/newEbiz1/250zs-...00-100t-OK.pdf ) has very close characteristics to M1280D ( see info at http://marr.com.au/uploads/M1280D%20Load%20Charts.zip ).

Not sure if this has been posted before. Gensler posted a PDF file of Shanghai Tower with some very nice pictures and info.

You can download the PDF here: http://www.gensler.com/uploads/docum...12_22_2010.pdf

now that is amazing. will the public be able to go to the little skygardens through the tower where the atriums are? cause they have an amazing view, or only the observation deck if there is one? or not known

It has been said so many times before, but seeing these new renders I'm even more sure that this is the most futuristic looking skyscraper thats U/C right now. All those atriums are just mind-boggling. Even the base of the tower is already so huge and modern that it would make an impact here in Holland, let alone the tower itself.

Actually i like the original podium better, it suits the tower more IMO.

holy moly! this must be the largest core i've ever seen so far. such a humongous tower, i can only imagine how it will look like when finished. the progress being made in the last 4 weeks is just amazing, that's what i call fast.

Interesting to see the outer skin of glass seems to be suspended on cables. Am curious to know how the wind loading and expansion joints are overcome. Seems like an increadible amount of glass, wonder how the carbon footprint figures hold up?

Yeah but on the other hand. What you see there is a second skin of glass. Offices and such are behind the first layer of glass. But still, all those atriums must also be heated. I hope that Discovery is already on the site to film for a documentary.

Those are probably going to be the lift shafts - 81 of them in all.

I really can't understand the cranes being outside the core! I can't believe they haven't thought this out.
Why not cranes growing inside the lift shaft? The point is that lift shafts carry on throughout the building so don't intersect floors. Where the cranes are now no floors can be built while the cranes remain.
I imagine lifting up 220t hunks of steel means the cranes can't hang over very far ... so maybe that's the problem - if they were in the lift shafts then maybe they wouldn't be able to reach over to the outside of the building (once that start climbing)... can't think of any other reason.
It's also going to be interesting to see how the steels that are on every 10-12th floor will go in. Maybe in a month we'll see this start to happen? I'd imagine they'd wait till the core has gone several levels past it, the concrete has hardened and the scaffolding cleared.
It's interesting to see the super-columns starting to grow - well spotted Pablo - I just scrolled up to check to see if they had appeared. I'm curious if they will be steel or steel and concrete like the core - i would have expected steel only but we'll see.
