Considering the tower itself converges towards the top, it would make sense that the columns would have a slight angle to them.

Politics between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of China have nothing to do with the fact that both countries are part of the geographical area of China, the same way North Korea and South Korea are both part of Korea.

yeah of course that is true, but China is often used and understood as the term for the specific country, although of course you are correct when people talk about China and not People's Republic Of China it is kinda misleading. But yeah whatever, for me i think it is always best to say China and Taiwan, to make sure everyone knows its included in terms what you mean.
