yes, this height would be perfect. but the tower shouldn't have a spire IMO

all the sugestions so far tend that it will be a smaller tower ... or it will be a tall and slim one

If those modest figures for budget and floor space quoted by kix111 are confirmed it wouldn't be strange that the final project was even shorter than the SWFC. I'm really worried

the new tower has to be a massive 500m+ tower. a slim 300m-400m tower wouldn't look good i think

Doesn't sound any good as up to 600m would fit there.

a lot of evidences contradict each other for example such a little floor area but with almost twice the cost of swfc? also they are saying its going to be the new landmark of shanghai, obviously it would be better than swfc

dont have to worry guys

With the observatory on SWFC, would it be likely or unlikely that they would put an observatory on Shanghai Center should it reach 580m to 600m?

I love this one. The design looks authentically Chinese but I think it should be taller and fatter. I like fat tall buildings like the former World Trade Center in New York.

Considering that the Shanghai Center plot is located behind (as in further away) the Jin Mao in this rendering, this particular proposal has to be huge!

In that case it's built in the middle of the road or in the park.
The plot is behind Jin Mao in that picture.

I would love to see a building there which makes a good triple with Jin Mao and SWFC and didnt dwarfe them! Maybe something around 540m - 600m.

Everything which gets higher would IMO look stupid, the skyline has to get harmonical! They should use some kind of design like the one posted in post number 601.
