I think its the actual floor plate. In the render the podium only covers one side of the core, but they are building the white plate 360` around the core in the construction picture.

Strange thing is, this is by far the most complex building this architectural company has ever built. I really hope nothing goes wrong, because this is definitely the world's most unique design being built.

Hi kix.
I agree the level 2 floor we see is for both the main tower and the podium - makes sense. I think what koops meant is the floor will be the size and shape of the main structure from level 6 on as the podium is 5 levels high. This is how they enumerate the levels for this project - the first level is level 1, the second is level 2 ... (different projects choose very different methods ...)

On another note - I see a backhoe near one of the openings in the ground level concrete. Also there seems to be some dust eminating from 2 other openings. I wonder if they are working down another level to B2 ?

Do you think they will hang the cladding glass with metal claws like this? so in fact the building will even look larger than the floor plate we see now?

I'm not sure the way they planned to hang stuff, but it's true that the building will looks larger than the floor plate.
The diameter of the floor plate in zone No.1 is 82.5m, and the widest part of this tower is 95m.

Hi Nord.

A very interesting method to dig the hole, surround it with a retaining wall, then later blast it to get a continuous lower level for the main structure and the podium. Most projects just size the hole and retaining wall for the entire podium.

So, as of 17th February 2011, 1st floor is in place, and so are beams of 2nd floor, white posts uo to 4th and rusty pillars and core up to which floors respectively? What is the current height?

What is the red frame they're building in the second to last photo?

And is there any information about the logistics on such a big construction site? Does anyone have any plans or information about that subject? I was just wondering if they use for example BIM to organize logistic processes, et cetera...

Hi chorn.
The tops of the columns on top are just above the floor of level 13. They are concentrating on the podium levels now as the height on top hasn't changed ina few weeks.

Hi Dennis.
I noticed that as well. The levels on it don't seem to correspond to the levels on the main structure. It almost looks like some sort of scaffolding but looks too robust to be just that.
But ...

It is on this side of the site. Perhaps it is temporary support for the large overhang on this side of the podium ?
