I don't think Shanghai Tower will affect the view from SWFC ob deck, as that tower will be to the side SW of SWFC. The crown of the Jinmao is more of a block to SFWC observation deck really.

I like this angle more because the towers to the north of Lujiazui looks better IMO

Lujiazui planning is just a mess. Some towers should never have been built, like the Ping'an bulding. There are lot more tower in Lujiazui than you can actually see, it would have been a lot better if they restricted the height of the building closer to the shore.

Who will be going in the SWFC deck anyway when they could be going in the Shanghai Tower.

Observation deck sucks anyways, for the same price for going to the 100th floor on SWFC you can have a very nice cup of coffee on the 97th floor in Park Hyatt. (~30usd).

30 dollars to go in the observation deck of the SWFC?!? Wow. It must be small, I've seen a crowded picture of it. I thought it was the whole top of the handle, must be not.

No, it won't.
See the one in the circle? It is the north tower crane of the Shanghai Tower.

Jeez, that skyline looks so surreal. It reminds me of this one picture that surfaced back in the SWFC forum that made the entire Pudong district look like something from the Jetsons. Does anyone remember that?

If it's thirty dollars to go to the SWFC deck I wonder how much it will cost to wander around in all the so called "public space" the Shanghai Tower will have. If it was truly public it would be free, but then it would become the next homeless shelter. It would be the world's tallest homeless shelter.

And PS the ability to see the tower crane from that angle answers somebody's question from a while back, something like when will we be able to see it from that angle. Now we can see it will not be hidden and the core will show soon

Wow thats further away from Jinmao than i have imagined, maybe this angle you see the furthest separation between the two towers. Because i remember stepping out the Jinmao podium (remember i was buying cake XD) and Shanghai Tower construction site was just right across the narrow road.

Btw do you know if its the tip or the rear of the crane? I think its the rare of the crane (ie, the north crane is facing south) so when the actual tower is built, it will look closer to Jinmao because the tower is only located on the core.

I think it's the tip.
Although the crane is located on the side of the core but it has a pretty large span right? So probably we cannot see the lower part of the tower from that angle.

That's a restaraunt, Park Hyatt, not the observation deck.

Oh my God that city is bigger than I thought. No wonder they're building 2000 foot towers.
