Is that the official name? it might be confusing since it's also the name of its headquarter in Hong Kong. Rumor said Cheung Kong group tried to sell the plot, but seems it is still the developer of X3-2. Still we don't see much information released by Cheung Kong.

Yeah it's following the same branding as their HK building (as most HK developers seem to do here). Selling it has been on the table but no deal has been done yet. The site would have been dirt cheap when they bought it compared to what its worth now so there could be a lot of money to make selling it now. Looks like nothing has happened on that site for a while, I see workers there but I have no idea what they're doing. According to the developer it's still on schedule for late next year.

The tower so far still looks very rounded, i wonder when you can start to see its rounded triangular shape.

When you take away the outer skin and the core, there is not as much space for offices in this building as you might think.

I think it's meant to be iconic more than anything.
That's what I was saying, the core is huge and the actual good, above ground floor space in the tower is not that much, but the tower's point is to be symbolic.

Surely you'll only be able to see the triangular shape when the cladding goes on. The office floors of this building are all round, it's only the glass curtain wall that has the triangular shape.

IMO Jin Mao should step up its plate and get a better lighting system. The three towers will be the icons of Shanghai yet the Jin Mao tower does not seem to impress at night.

Wow the blue lights on the SWFC look great. The whold building has a foggy look like it's not even real. It looks like a hollgram, anyone else seeing that?

Especially because I'm on a crappy library computer right now. I almost forgot about that, it makes everything look bad compared to my phone.

I don't know why everyone thinks they will be able to see a "triangular" shape. The plans you are seeing are taken at a single floor... and the plan for this building, esp the facade, is extremely dynamic. You will barely be able to see a triangular shape on this building. Just look at the renders.

Ah i see then must be interesting to see what goes on to support its cladding.

This tower is going to be indescribably cool- I might even visit shanghai just to see these three for myself! This is a real contender for my favourite modern tower, and I can see it winning awards!
