This building doesn't look as though it thins out too dramatically as it goes up though, unlike the burj for example. The core must thin out a lot as it gets higher though, so by the time it gets up near the business end the ratio should be a lot more favourable.

It should get very interesting from this point upwards. They are at the first 'sky lobby' connections, so we should see a dramatic difference in the next few days/weeks.

it doesnt look tall at all for me, but that is because its so freaking huge in all directions and not only in height

Those condo's right beside it will probably jump in price when this is up and finished, anyone know what a sq/m would sell for now in that area of Shanghai?

Those condos are already the most expensive in the world... somewhere around $25k+ a square meter. I remember one sold a couple years back at well over $30k a square meter. There are quite a few units left vacant in Tomson Riviera, and I remember reading that they are trying to limit sales to 1-2 units a month to try and get more when the market recovers.
