@Miami High Rise I don't think it would look like that if it hadn't been cleaned since building JinMao. It's normal that photos look a little bit "foggy" when taken from behind the window.

I'm pretty sure they've jumped at least one of the cranes yesterday. When I was on the ferry last night one of the cranes appeared to be significantly higher than the core, and now clearly visible above the surrounding apartment complexes.

@Miamihighrise - glass on a lot of buildings here is tinted against the sun, as it is very hot here in the summer. Jin Mao is one of those buildings, and that's why the view through the glass looks a little grey.

^You do know that you'll be expected to provide photos and updates once the tower breaks out from behind those buildings (;<

Definitely huge differences! A picture taken today would have the completed IFC, The Citic and Mandarin Oriental twins, almost finished China Merchants bank mansion, completed PingAn building and also in a years time we will see the new Puxi supertall White Magnolia Plaza rising too. CRAZY!

This picture seemed to be taken around 2008-2009, right?

This is a 2008 picture for sure. The first tower of the IFC was still under construction.

The cranes have definitely jumped. All four of them are poking well above the Tompson Towers now.

Thats going to be one cool tower. I also like the fact so many of these new supertalls have public observation decks.
