And if you'll also take some pics and post them here that would be perfect.

Ah, go figure. I wanted to show off some of my LA photos. But I've changed it back now.

These are actually from last week, I have been so busy I have only just had the chance to upload them! I got some good close up shots of the tower, especially the truss level.

There are big wooden billboards surrounding the site and on these are renders and descriptions of the tower and its different features.

It seems like the 'V cut' in the glass curtain wall will have some sort of LED screen

And also in response to some peoples confusion about how the glass curtain wall will be supported or what it will look like inside:

I hope those lcd screens will be permanently on, like those on the Citibank Tower and Aurora Plaza. That would be pretty awesome.

By the "pixel" density of the representations, they don't look like LCD screens, rather like LED arrangements (just like most other screens in the city).
Putting up LCD's rather than LED's would probably be a waste of energy (and money). Impressive nonetheless. It will definitely add to the tower's personality and uniqueness.

I think some people simply do not realize what is an LED and what is an LCD.
Of course they won't be LCD screens.

Of course for you. I've had to explain it at least 3 times in the past month alone. Then again, it could just be that italians generally don't know the difference, but I thought I'd clarify

Seems like the frame is catching up with the core. It always looks like no one is there and nothing is happening but it's just becuase it's so big you can't see the people.

Oh I know, but since all the posts after yours talked about LCD's, I figured I would just quote yours to underline the difference.

As for the tower, I'm in love with the columns, they are the most massive I've ever seen. It's probably been posted before, but could someone tell me who makes them (the company that is) ?

Speaking of the columns.....

I know that they started the foundations about 5 or 6 levels below ground, but how deep down do the columns go, does anybody know?

They just anchor those columns on the mat foundation.
